Valerie Bohn is a PhD student in Philosophy at the University of Göttingen, conducting her research in cooperation with the CHAI-Institute at the University of Hamburg. Her doctoral research focuses on the ethical and social implications of anthropomorphic AI systems and social robots, with a particular interest in the illusion of sentience and the design of responsible human-AI interaction. The aim of her thesis is to develop an illusion disruption implementation in human-like AI, in collaboration with informatics and social psychology, in order to avoid the potential risks associated with anthropomorphic machines.
